Tech Note 103 Accelerometer Powering with CCD Diode

When connecting a CMCP525/530 Transmitter to a Accelerometer that is already powered by another device the CCD (Constant Current Diode) should be cut to prevent overpowering of the Accelerometer by connection to both devices.

Simply cut one end of the CCD loose from the circuit board with a small pair of wire cutters. Lift slightly and place a small piece of heat shrink over the CCD to prevent it from touching. The CCD can then be reattached, if required, using a soldering iron.

When using a CMCP525/530 in a Dual Path configuration with the CMCP/CMSS590 Enveloping Transmitter it is not necessary to cut the CCD as the CMCP/CMSS590 has a jumper for disabling CCD power. Simply power with the CMCP525/530 and disable power in the CMCP/CMSS590.
