Monitoring the a motor/air
handler can be
accomplished by installing a single accelerometer on each bearing, 2 for the
motor and 2 for the air handler. The output signal should be routed to CMCP530A
Vibration Velocity Monitor. A more economical approach would be to mount
accelerometers at the motor output bearing and the bearing on the pulley end
of the air handler shaft since these are the bearings with the highest load,
and are most likely to fail.
