STI’s 3-Day Machinery Condition Monitoring Seminars are held in League City, Texas. Emphasis is placed on machinery condition monitoring and machinery protection systems. Basic vibration theory and machinery diagnostics are also included.

Pricing: Seminar price is $995.00 and includes daily lunch and refreshments. Each attendee will also receive a seminar binder and CD containing application notes and other useful tools.
Travel: When traveling to League City to attend from out the area either Houston Hobby or Houston Intercontinental Airports can be used. Hobby is about 30 minutes travel time and Intercontinental 60 minutes.

Topics Include: Maintenance Methods, Justification for Vibration Monitoring, Monitoring Classifications, Monitoring Methods, Monitoring System Users, Machine Categories, and What Makes a Monitoring System Successful.
C2. Basic Rotating Machinery: Topics Include: Journal Bearings, Rolling Element Bearings, Bearing Failure Modes, Shaft Nodes, and Critical Speeds.
C3. Basic Vibration: Topics Include: F=MA, Measurement Types, Transducer Conventions, Why X&Y, and Comparing Measurements.
C4. Transducer Theory of Operation: Topics Include: Accelerometers, Piezo-Electronic Velocity, Mechanical Velocity, And Non-Contacting Pickup Proximity, Shaft Riders, ABS (shaft absolute measurement), Temperature Sensors, and 4-20 mA Velocity Transducers.

Topics Include: 4-20 mA Signals, Why 4-20 mA, 4-20 mA Compliance, 2-Wire and 3-Wire Systems.

C7. Sensor Installation: Topics Include: Accelerometers, Velocity Sensors, and Eddy Probe Systems (Proximity Probe).

Topics Include: Monitor Types, Alarm Types, Fault Detection Circuits, Startup Run/Off Circuits, Relay Outputs/Voting, and Monitor System Demonstration.
C9. Industrial Networking: Topics Includes: Communication Modes, 2-Wire RS-232, RS-485 Multi-Drop, Wireless, Cat-5 and Fiber. Communication Protocols, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, Ethernet TCP, IP Addressing and Pinging.

Topics Include: Both Journal Bearing and Rolling Element Bearing Machines including, Turbines, Compressors, Fans, Motors, Pumps, Speed Increasers/Decreasers, Cooling Towner Fans, Reciprocating Compressors, Turbine Generator Sets, Hydro-Turbine Generators, and Paper Machines.
C16. Basic Diagnostics: Topics Include: Both Frequency Domain and, Time Domain including Steady State Information, Transient Data Information, and Journal Bearing “Orbit” Diagnostics.
